Hypertag launches interactive ad campaign
Hypertag, an interactive advertisement company, has partnered with media owner Boomerang Media to install 80 interactive, Bluetooth-enabled advertisements throughout London, reports online news source Net Imperative.
The embedded Bluetooth and infra-red units will be installed in London's bars and cinemas. The ads will use hypertags – short-range wireless tags – to beam interactive content to people's mobile phones. To participate, the mobile customer must activate the infra-red or Bluetooth on their phone, hold it up to the hypertag and receive digital promotional materials, such as vouchers, business cards, ringtones or games.
So far, the advertisement campaign is limited to London, but if successful will be rolled out nationwide in 2007.
