Blogging for beginners: ETribes launches online personal publishing service

British software company ETribes has launched an online personal publishing and photo-sharing service for adults who want to blog but don't want to spend the time and energy in maintaining a web log.

Simon Grice, the founder of ETribes, says there are millions of people in Britain who fall into this category. 'There's a lot of hype about blogging, but the truth is that most people aren't bloggers and don't want to be,' he said. 'However, our research shows that there are about five million adults in the UK who are interested in finding easier and more convenient ways of communicating with their 'tribe' of friends, family and associates.'

In addition to being able to post pictures, personal information, commentary and news, ETribes also allows its customers to define which groups of people get to see the customer's page. The service also allows customers to phone and text people from the customer's PC.

To participate in the service, customers pay an annual fee of £24. The fee includes an ETribes account on its own website (www.etribes.com/accountname) with up to 10GB of photo storage.
