Sky offers free broadband connection for Sky customers

Digital TV operator Sky has launched Sky Broadband, a broadband internet service composed of three packages, Base, Mid and Max.

Sky Broadband Base is free to Sky digital customers and enables data download at speeds of up to 2Mb with a monthly limit of 2Gb. Sky Broadband Mid costs £5 a month for Sky customers, and offers download speeds of to up 8Mb and 40GB of usage. Sky customers who subscribe to Sky Broadband Max pay £10 a month and are able to download data at speeds of up to 16Mb. The Max package also includes unlimited usage and free professional home installation.

Sky Broadband is available in areas covered by its broadband network, which currently reaches 28 per cent of households including London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Sky expects to reach 70 per cent of all UK households by the end of 2007.
