Vodafone offers unlimited 3G data for €49/month
3G mobile internet users can pay a flat fee of €49 per month using Vodafone Ireland's Vodafone Unlimited Data plan.
The offer, available as of 1 July 2006, will also apply to the 3G broadband service to be launched later on this year. Vodafone is currently setting up its 3G broadband network using high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) technology, which will start in Dublin and later roll out throughout the country. Once this network is set up, customers will be able to access the internet wirelessly at speeds of up to 1.2 megabits per second for €49 per month.
Teresa Elder, chief executive, Vodafone Ireland, says, 'I believe that this is very significant for Ireland's economic development as it will unlock the potential for many people who wish to be able to work on the go without the constraints of a fixed line.'
According to Vodafone, the Unlimited Data plan is the first flat-rate package for unlimited wireless internet use in Ireland.
