TribalWeb brings free peer-to-peer file sharing to UK
Friends, families and organizations in the UK can share photos, films, or documents on their own private network using TribalWeb, a peer-to-peer file sharing service.
TribalWeb is designed to meet the file-sharing needs of individuals, groups and small businesses. It is available free-of-charge by downloading the software from the TribalWeb website and setting up a private network. Once the network has been established, two or more members of the network can share files of all sizes, including documents, pictures and videos.
TribalWeb co-founder, Stéphane Herry says, 'TribalWeb is installed simply by downloading the software from our website: you select both those whom you wish to join your private network and there is no restriction on file size. Only users of the network can see shared files: similarly, only the sender and receiver are aware of each individual exchange, broken exchanges automatically resume with no data loss and all network data is 128-bit encrypted.'
TribalWeb was originally launched in France in 2005, where more than 120,000 people used the service.
